Tattoo Wedding Rings

Tattoo Wedding Rings
When my ex-girlfriend and I started dating, she had a tiny black and red tattoo that haunted my days, though I'd try to convince myself otherwise. It was a tattoo of the letter "N", and it was the first initial of her previous girlfriend. Likewise, her ex had a black and red letter "D" tattooed in the same place. Although gays and lesbians cannot legally marry, during the five years that they were together they decided to celebrate their commitment by getting the tattoos in lieu of engagement/wedding rings.

Love the idea of wedding rings but hate to wear them? Enter the wonderful world of wedding ring tattoos! A truly great way to show how insanely committed the two of you are. Here are a few of the awesome offbeat couples that have graced us with pictures of their wedding ring ink…
I loooooove these engagement tatts that Ashley and her partner got. Ashley says that after their rockin' wedding (see pics here) they're going to get full-hand tats that they've already designed for each other.
A tattoo wedding ring can be had for about $100 each or less, depending on the artist doing it and the design. Research on which artist you want to work with, since the quality will vary from artist to artist. Ask for referrals from people you know if possible. Improper application of ink can lead to ugly scarring and possible infection, which is why choosing a reputable artist is necessary.

You can expect a tattoo wedding ring to be more painful to have compared to other tattoos in other parts of the body.
Tattoo wedding ring ideas may come in all shapes and forms. Common designs include the date of your wedding or the name of your significant other. If names and numbers are not your thing you can choose other designs and symbols. The importance of the meaning of your tattoo wedding rings will be most evident in the design, so choose the design carefully. The tattoo wedding ring should be a symbol of your commitment to each other and your belief that the relationship will last but it doesn't have to be the name of your significant other. As long as it's something that holds a special meaning to both of you as couple, it'll make a good tattoo wedding ring design.

These wedding ring tattoos range from inked patterns around the base of ring fingers to wedding date numerals. They also include designs meant to compliment traditional wedding bands on fingers, like the “I do” and “Ditto” commentary inked on one couple’s fingers in the gallery.

These pictures of wedding ring tattoos are only a small sampling of what’s out there, but they’re a pretty innovative look into this symbol of love.
